Safety switches on John Deer Saber Lawn Mower
I have a JD saber lawn tractor, every once and a while I go to start it and all you hear is a click. We think that it's the battery, but bought a new one of them and that didn't help. My son rolled the tractor just a foot or two and the tractor started. This has been going on for a couple of years. This is why I am thinking that it's a safety switch or something like it. Doesn't matter sometimes it happens when you first use it or even when warmed up? Anyone else have this problem?

    Hi,
It is most likely the solenoid. The contacts are headed "south." Not a 100% answer as it could be the key switch not passing enough current to the solenoid to trigger it for the same reason. Both pieces are mechanical in nature and common electrical failures.
    Peace,
    Clarke
