My athletes foot is so bad big on my big toe. I can hardly bend it.
It is so bad that it causes extreme pain when I bend it and when it's just stationary too. I can't step into it. I have to walk on my heel at all times. What should I do? No over the counter meds are working.

If OTC products like Lotrimin aren't working on the supposed fungal infection (most common athlete's foot), you may have a yeast or bacterial infection, or psoriasis or eczema, and a doctor would do a test on some flakes of skin. You may have had bacteria move into the fold under your toe if the skin was raw or broken.

Fungal infections of the feet are very difficult to get rid of. You need to scour and bleach the tub or shower base, bleach your socks (white cotton), throw out old sneakers, and so on. Wear vinyl sandals around the house that you can also soak in soapy water a some bleach, and keep your feet clean and totally dry between your toes. Make sure your shoes aren't too tight, and consider some super roomy diabetic shoes for a while.
