I am making a full bath in the basement with a concrete floor.
How do I connect pvc shower drain to existing copper drain, under the conceret floor.
Also suggest which is better PVC, ABS or Copper for the new drain line.

DO I have to install P-trap? My main drain line is about 3ft away.

You use a 2" Fernco Shielded Coupling. (see image) or you could solder on a 2" female adapter on the copper And thread a 2" male adapter into the copper and the prime and glue the PVC pipe into the male adapter. Your choice, but the easiest would be the Shielded Coupling.

All plumbing codes mandate that EVERY fixture be trapped. Not only that but also every fixture that has a trap MUST be vented.

Since I will be connecting my shower drain to the sink drain which, I think, is vertical vent also. So if I connect shower drain to P-trap which in turn connects to Drain + Vent pipe will that be OK?
If possible I will go for threaded copper female adapter.
My concern is that the Fernco Shielded Coupling will be safe to use below concrete for future leaks due to earth shifting?

Earth shifting? Where do you live? I live in Florida and back in the 80's I've put in the drainage for 16 p0lex condo buildings using couplings such as these. Of course we don't get much earth shifting around here. Good luck and if we can be of further help just ask. Tom
