I know nothing about this thing, I'm just a little bit interested to see how much this is worth. I have no idea were it was made or anything, it was purchased about 13 years ago, someone in my family bought it. I don't know any more information on it, it is a case I thing it is made from a type of bone if anyone thinks they can tell me something about it I will send you a picture of it.

I don't know where that is from or how old it might be. It could be bone but from here, more like marble, or shell maybe, because of the small pieces. I assume the metalwork is brass. It could be very old, but not necessarily, depending on various things like how the hinge is attached. Either take a lot more pictures inside and out with your macro setting and ask under antiques, or take it to an antique dealer. Sorry I don't know more.

I think I will take someone to see it and hopefully I can get something out of.
