    Moen Tub Diverter Valve
Trying to replace a Moen Tub diverter because of vibration noise when the diverter is pulled up to run the shower. I went to home depot and found a replacement (slip on type with the allen screw in the bottom) My problem is that the replacement requires the copper to extend 2"-3" from the wall. When I took off the old diverter, I found that there was only 1" of copper coming out of the wall so obviously the replacement leaked.

Do I need to extend the copper or is there a Moen replacement diverter? Could not find one at Home Depot.

    Thanks - John

    Hey John,
If your spout fit before then what's changed? If the "O" rings fit over the copper stub out then there's no reason the new diverter spout won't fit. UNLESS.the "O" rings have slipped out of place. Check and try again. Good luck, Tom
