I previously thought I was pregnant, I got my period 6 days after having unprotected sex though, it was a little lighter and shorter than usual, now I have not got my period this month and had a pregnancy dream last night I talked to my friend who had a baby 8 months ago and she said that having these "pregnany dreams" means that I'm most likely pregnant, especially since I have not got my period yet this month and it is two weeks late. Is this true? Could I really be pregnant?

I think your friend might also have a bridge to sell. I know of no scientific or medical evidence that proves that pregnancy dreams equal pregnancy. Now someone who really wants a child and thinks about it often I can see having dreams about such a thing seeing as their subconscious is so preoccupied with these thoughts. The only true way to tell if you are pregnant is to have a medical professional do an ultrasound/or Doppler and verify a baby, or to have a pregnancy test detect the hCG hormone... and even the latter can produce a false positive on occasion. No pregnancy dreams have nothing to do with being pregnant, it is either wishful dreaming or fearful dreaming depending if you want or don't want to be pregnant. There are as many myths as there are people to tell them.

The only way to tell if you are pregnant is to take a pregancy test after you have missed your next period.
