I have stained my casing and base mold both pine and after apllying my first coat of poly I have noticed white hazy marks on some of the pieces. I am not sure if it was my staining that caused this or the poly ontop of bad stain.

What sort of stain are you using, and what brand of poly? How did you apply both?

Also, did you treat the wood before you stained? If so, with what?

How long did you let the stain dry before you applied poly? Please answer Alty's questions first
