The wash tub in our Kenmore stack unit (top loading) started leaking. The repair man came over and discovered a hole in the bottom of the tub! It's the 2010 model and there is a crack on the bottom, outside plastic tub! He didn't know what caused it and patched it with epoxy but after the 3rd load it is starting to drip again. Has this ever happened to anyone else?

The water leak in our Kenmore stack washer/dryer was patched with epoxy. That patch failed. Expert recommended using silicone sealant. That patch failed. Now I am looking at the hole where the leak is and it is twice as big!
What is causing the hole? I suspect there is something in the space between the inside and outside wash tubs making this long hole. Does anyone know if the outside tub has a lifetime warranty? This is a 2010 model. Thanks.
