    Clogged sewer line
Good Morning, so I have a clogged sewer line in my bathroom - I know it is from papertowels that I put in there the other night (not thinking) when my dog pooped in my bed. So now my toilet water is baking up into my bathroom sink and the shower. I duct taped the drain on the sink and the shower to get better suction when plunging, but now I noticed that there is water dripping from inside the walls upstairs in my house (where the clogged toilet is) down into my basement. I also noticed water leaking into my stirwell from where the ceiling meets the wall. We have a snake to unclog the line, and I will probably need to change the seal and inspect the flange for cracks, but is this a huge problem that I should be worried about, the water in my walls from this? Thank you! - Christine

Dog poop by itself can clog a toilet let alone paper towels. The clog should have been right in the toilet trap but it is not, down stream so now the shower and sink are clogged. You must be on the lower floor of a multilevel home so get the sink to back up. I'd skip the wax ring and crack search and concentrat on rodding. Can you see these drain pipes from below or are they sealed inside a ceiling?

If you don't have a closet auger,(see image) in your tool chest now would be a good time to purchase one. If you had used one right away you wouldn't be in this mess.
Bob's on the right track. The solution would be to pull the toilet and snake the toilet drain line. You'll also need a new wax seal and perhaps a new set of closet bolts. Good luck, Tom
