I have had garnishment taken out my account. Yes it's a join account but the money in the account was mine other then the persons disablity money that the garnishment was taken out on. Can they do that?

Yes if the other persons name is on the account they may freeze it. They always freeze it first before it is taken. If one person claims it is their, they will have to go to the court and prove it is theirs by showing deposits from their money.
