I have naturally dark brown hair, and am now tired of blonde hair. My hair is currently golden blonde, with lighter highlights, in some lights it's coppery, so I wouldn't say it was in anyway an ash blonde. But I've heard about hair going green if you dye it straight to brown, so should I dye it red first? Or is this just for white blondes, where there is no pigment in the hair? Would it be different for me because my hair is kind of golden and also my roots of dark brown are showing for about 1/2 an inch. Going to the salon to get this done is not an option. I'm fine with home dying, I just really need to know what process I should go through to avoid disaster. Please help, would be much appreciated.
