Can I claim my parents as a dependent on 2011 tax return?
    Here is the Detail
    1.They lived with us more than 183 days.(Aprox 7 month in 2011)
2.they are legal resident and have a SSN(Green card holder)
3.My Dad earned $4500 in 2011 and Mother was Housewife.
4.If I can't claim my dad as a dependent(due to his income),Can I claim my Mother only as a dependent.
5.If I claim only my mother as a dependent does my dad have to show my mother in his tax return?

    Please help!

    Thanks

    Redundant question; already answered.

You CAN claim your mother, but NOT your father.

He will file Married Filing Separately and list your mother's name and SSN on his return, but NOT claim her personal exemption.
