I don’t know the exact age of this oil painting, but it’s been in my family’s house for at least 50 years.
It’s the Grand Teton’s and the Snake River in WY. The canvas is stapled onto the canvas board. The painting without the frame measures 38” x 28”. There are no markings that I can see, except for the maker of the stretch board and there is pencil writing on the back of the frame, it looks like ’Mrs. S. W.’ (Not my family).
No one in my family remembers where this painting came from and both of my parents are deceased. I am now the proud owner and would like to find some information on the artist, if possible. I will add a photo of the painting and a close up of the artists’ signature as soon as I figure out how to do that. I realize it’s a long shot, but ideas on who the artist might be are appreciated.
