    Can I claim apartment rent for out of town work when my employer did not pay per diem
    I had to rent an apartment for 8 months because my work was 10 hours from my home my company did not pay per diem can I claim this as work related exp on my ta and where do I put it?

    If this was a temporary work assignment (intended for less than 1 year) and you did not receive either a per diem or reimbursement for expenses then yes - you can deduct as a miscellaneous deduction on Schedule A, to the extent that all miscellaneous deductions add up to more than 2% of your Adjusted Gross Income.
