    Venting a sewage pump
I am putting a bathroom in my basement and have overhead sewers. I am installing a sewage pit with ejector pump. Can the pit be vented into the houses existing vent? Do I have to vent the toilet and shower separately? They are both less than 5 feet from the pit.

If you're installing a Saniflow system the answer's yes. Other systems mandate a dedicated vent.

Not if wet vents, (see image) are allowed in your area. Check with your local Building Department to find out. Good luck. Tom
