My dad is a very caring person, he's so protective.
He kind of drew my future, I'm preparing my masters and I'm an intern in a very large company, he said I should work for them when they ask me to, don't get me wrong I like the company, but I'm just 22 years old and I want to study abroad before having to work.
I just get a weird feeling when I hear him saying to me u have to do this and do that, I mean I want to plan my future. That's why I want to study abroad before settling in any kind of work, am I foolish? Is my dad overprotective? What to do?

Have you mentioned studying abroad to him? If so, what did he say?

Well I did mention to him that I wanted to study abroad, he was considering it, but now he's pushing me to do what he wants, and because he paid for my education and college and everything really, I was a bit shy to talk about my studying project.

Do you have a concrete plan in mind for the study abroad? School? Courses?

Why would he say no?

I am sure he is still thinking "old school" and what he wants is how you normally work up in business. Taking time off for over seas travel while a good learning experience also takes you out of the work force if you are in a place to start full time work soon.

Yeah I guess he's a bit old school, cause when he was my age he didn't have someone to advice him and take care of him since his dad died when he was young.
My plan is to go to Malte and have some courses there and maybe find a part time job and live a new experience in the island, away from my home town, I'm trying to figure out lot of things :).
