How to file tax for L2 visa holder
    Hi!
I (L2 visa holder) moved with my husband (who has a L1 visa) to US in September 2010, and in February 2011 I received my EAD and SSN. From there on I worked in US as a consultant for 4 months, before moving back to Europe where I worked (and paid tax) for the rest of 2011.

So, would love some help in how to go about filing my tax for US!

1, So far I think that I have understood that I meet the SPT so I should file as a resident alien, right?

2, Also think that I have to report my worldwide income. How do I go about to do that? Name of form to fill out?

3, My husband who is still in US has mentioned that I have received some sort of W form, will I be able to at all file my tax from Europe or do I need to fly over to US?

4, Is my husband obliged to file any additional information because of my US/worldwide income?

This is so confusing, so guess next one is

5, Anyone who can recommend someplace to turn to for direct help?

Thank you so much for your time!

Which tax return did you and your husband file for 2010?

Hi, thanks for such a quick response!

I did not work 2010 (been a student) so I think he filed somethingsomething joint, saying that I did not have any income.

Curious, what does that have to do with it?

    Best

You must be sure about what return did you file in 2010. In 2010, you were not eligible to file joint return.
For 2011 also, you are nonresident.
