When I use the bathroom sink I drip water around the handle onto the porcelin. The pooled water then leaks through where the handle meets the sink onto the floor below. We filled the space with putty but now we have a constant yellowish water leaking out of the handle base. Did we do something wrong?

What type of faucet is it? One handle or two knobs? What's the brand name? How old is it? Answer me and I'll answer you. Tom

It is a 2 year old sink-faucet is Delta. If you drip water right next to the base of the handle (where the handle meets the sink) the water starts dripping through to the other side and onto the floor-both handles. It is a pedistool sink. That is until we put putty between the handles and sink but now we have the yellow water ooze from the combo of water with the putty. Thanks

I'm still trying to figure out what type of valve you have and if it's leaking from the base or the bonnet packing. Let me give it a guess.
You have a two handled Delta lavatory faucet that's leaking from the stem under the handle on one side when you run the faucet? Am I correct? If not then correct me. Back to you, Tom

Here is the picture. It leaked at the base where we put putty. Now putty leaks out. How do you generally stop water from leaking between the handles and sink of a pedistool without using putty that then seeps out? Thanks.

First tighten the fittings/nuts of the stems and the hot and cold water connections under the sink... if it still happens... replace the stems, seats, and washers... if it still happens the replace the faucet because you might have a hairline crack in the brass/copper that comes from both hot and cold to the spout.
