I painted a wooden chair and then put a sealer on. I have let it dry for over 24 hours like the can said but the wood now feels sticky. What did I do wrong and how do I fix it.

What did you paint it with and what type of sealer did you use? That information will help to determine the best course of action.
Yes please answer cal's questions. Any chance the sealer or the paint ever became frozen? All water based or oil or a combo?
The paint was a Behr Premium Plus paint and primer in one and the sealant was Olympic Maximum clear waterproofing sealant. It was pentrating oil formula clear.
Read the description http://buyat.ppg.com/rep_pafpainttoo.../TDB/56500.pdf You used a penetrating sealer on a surface that will not allow penetration. Its water based so try to was it with warm soapy water. I don't really see a big need to seal a freshly painted chair but, if you must, try a clear poly.
