Sounds like you have no spark or miss firing.

Take all spark plugs and ground them and one of fuse pull out for injector and check any spark.

Around the year honda civic has lots of problem for ignition timing module.

I fixed 1992 1.5L honda civic. Its almost same symptom. It stalled on the road and never come back, but some times try to start fire but won't.
So I checked fuel pressure, spark and compression. It was all has it.

But one thing could not check was ignition timing by timing light.

So it was sparks but spark timing was all off. It fixed after change the distributor.

So I searched the problem. It has a lot of problem the ignition control module. The module is build it in distributor.
You can change distributor or you can remove distributor and change the ignition module.
Easiest way is just replace the distributor.

You need to do adjust ignition timing by ignition timing light when you install a new distributor even put back old one.

If you do not have one. You can do mark the adjust screw before remove the distributor. Then put back or install new one to same spot. Its little better than nothing. But most likely you have to adjust by timing light.

    I hope it helps.
