Where can I find precedence for this?
On June 23 2010 I was convicted of petite larsony. I was sentenced to 11 months and 26 days of suspended jail time and placed on probation for a period of 2 years. On November 15 2011 I became homeless. On December 28 2011 I absconded from the state. On February 6 I returned and contacted the probation officer. I have a, "Show cause," schedueled for April 25. I am asking, "Where to look for precedence?"

Your best chance to get the most info is a plain old search engine like Google. Let me show you how. Let me google that for you

I am not sure what you hope to gain, there are 1000's of cases just like yours, and all of them get put into jail.

Precedents are cases that other judges previously ruled on to define certain laws. Your situation is totally up to the judge. A judge is not going to use precedents to make a decision here. A judge will look at your situation and decide what to do. There are basically three options. The first is to do nothing and just resume your probation (unlikely). The second is to cancel the probation and send you to jail. The third is to extend the period of probation. I think the third option is the most likely. You didn't commit any crime other than violation of your probation by leaving the jurisdiction. You voluntarily contacted your PO when you returned. Given those facts, I think the judge will simply extend your probation for a time.
