    Is state tax refund and bonus offers from the US banks taxable income for 1040nr-ez?
    Should I include them in line 4 in 1040nr-ez?

    Publication 525 page 22 says: "If you received a state or local income tax refund (or credit or offset) in 2011, you generally must include it in income if you deducted the tax in an earlier year."

    How do I know if it was deducted? Can anyone explain this with simple words?
