Missing pills

Here's another one..
I'm on birth control (gianvi) and I have been terrible at taking the pills lately. Last week I messed up a few times and had to double up the next day. Today is when I would be ovulated and my fiancŽ and I had sex. Is there a chance this could result in pregnancy? Well I know there's ALWAYS a chance, but what's the chances?

The miss pills will increase the chances. There is no way to put a number on it,

Also, how long should I use back up contraceptives after missing a pill?

Can you become pregnant the same day or day after you missed a birth control pill?

You can but it does not usually happen that way. Be more careful and take your pills as directed.

For some people who have problems remembering to take birth control pills shots or inter uterine devices are better.

I've been on BC for over 3 years. I RARELY forget. Unfortunately I did not have my pills with me today where I was. Don't infer that I am forgetful. I am VERY careful about it, hence this question..

Birth control

I have been on birth control for a while now but just recently found out what it does to actually prevent pregnancy. If it stops ovulation why do I still get cervical mucus half way through the cycle (like at the same time I would be ovulating if I was off BC.)? Thanks!

I'm thinking about not starting my new pack of birth control tomorrow which will also be the first day of this cycles period. I want to try to get pregnant soon. Is it true that I can begin ovulating as soon as 2 weeks after stopping birth control? Also, any one have tips that helped them when trying or they heard of helping others become pregnant faster? I understand it's different for everyone.

I am on BC pills and I am due to start Sunday. This past Sunday(1week before my period) I went pee and when I wiped there was so dark brown stringy discharge. The next time I went there was nothing and is now early Wednesday morning and have seen nothing. I am also extremely moody like even I notice. Am I just pmsing? Could I be pregnant with implantation bleeding? Is it just breakthrough spotting? Someone please shed some light.

It really could be any of those possibilities. If you have been taking your pills as directed, without missing any, odds are low that you are pregnant, however it is still possible.

See what happens when your period is due to start. Obviously if it doesn't show, try a pregnancy test.

So it's normal before a period.. breakthru bleeding, that is.

It can be when you are on birth control pills. Might not happen often, you might never have it happen again, but it can happen.

Okay well from what I read break through bleeding is usually red/pink like fresh blood, it says it's just like you reg. cycle but usually a lot lighter and doesn't last long. This was just one time of discharge and was not pink at all.. purely brown and gooey.can this differ?

I'll go back and answer a few of your other questions as well. Birth control pills can work a couple of different ways. If yours help with preventing ovulation, your body can still prepare for it to happen. This can be where the cervical mucus changed as you mentioned in an earlier post.

Since you are now trying to become pregnant, and have only recently stopped the birth control pills, the brownish discharge may be from your body adjusting to coming off the pills. For some women it can take a couple of months for their bodies to adjust to the change in hormone levels. You could become pregnant very quickly, or you might find that it takes many months, which would be perfectly normal.

Brown colored blood is often associated with older blood, so it is possible that you had bleeding that was light enough so as not to be present until it had already become darker. What caused the bleeding may never be known. Women can just have some irregular spotting or bleeding at times. It is often associated with a fluctuation in hormones, however.

What the difference between a brownish clot coming out or just slimy discharge. I am two days away from my period and still questioning last Sunday. I understand clot can't occur with implantation bleeding so I'm wandering what the difference is.

Implantation bleeding is not always seen and while it may usually be more spotting for a day or two if it is seen, that doesn't mean it is the only way it may present itself. Discharge can change for a number of reasons. Irregular bleeding due to hormonal changes, stress or illness, normal hormonal changes, pregnancy, medications used, age, etc.

That didn't really answer my question lol. I understand that implantation can come in all kinds of forms including dark brown slimy discharge which is what I believe to have but I'm not sure what a clot would look like coming out because if it was a clot it Wasn't implantation.

The discharge was likely due to older blood/tissue. The brownish color and clotting is usually caused by blood/mucus that was just slow to be released from your body. This can look thicker and clumpier or even a little blob, for lack of a better description.
