    Pee test every time
In your pee test are they looking to see if you are pregnant still or does that even come up? Even when you are 18 weeks pregnant

If you're already pregnant, and it's been confirmed, then why would they do a pregnancy test?

No. Once pregnancy has been confirmed, they no longer test for pregnancy when you give a urine specimen.

No, being pregnant is a done deal... :)

They are looking for several things. The level of protein in your urine, but also sugar, ketones, and any sign of possible infection. Excessive protein can signal possible pre-eclampsia. This happens most often in first time mothers and in older mothers. It can be quite serious and would need intervention. In some cases, delivering baby is what becomes necessary. Thankfully, if it were to occur, it most often happens later in pregnancy.

The sugar and ketones (which deals with your carb intake) can be a possible indicator that you have developed gestational diabetes, which is diabetes that occurs only in pregnancy. It does predispose you to possibly developing Type 2 diabetes later in life, but you can do quite a bit that may help prevent it.

Infection because they would have course want to treat it. Some infections, such as a simple urinary tract infection, can cause premature birth.
