Last July I stopped taking my birth control and never got my period till jan 7,2007. It is passed my time for me to start, I took a pregnancy test and it was negative. What could be going on with my body and what should I do about it?

How late is your period? Sometimes your period is late because of stress or a sudden change in weight. Also it could be a false negative pregnancy test if you aren't very late for your period. If I were you I would go see your ob/gyn. There could be a very simple explanation for what's going on or it could be something more serious... but it's never good to chance it. Just make an appointment to double check that everything is all right. Also if you're very physically active then that could also make your period late or even missed.Quote:

I called my best friend and told her what's been going on finally and she's very adament that I'm not pregnant and I'm going through hormonal changes. I don't know how old you are, I'll be 22 in a couple weeks... and typically women around 20 go through a pretty major hormonal change... so it could be that, ( that's what I'm hoping for me as well). My best friend got her period once every 4 months for the first 3 years she had it (she's now 21 and off the pill, and pretty regular)... so I'm thinking a lot more women than I thought experience hormonal changes aroudn that age that cause your period to be irregular... also stress is a huge issue... even if you don't think you're stressed, not knowing your body, or what's wrong is always an underlying worry... I'm scheduled for a blood test in 2 weeks and an appointment with my gyno... if you're still concerned, I'd make an appointment to verify things are OK. Hope this helps!
