No, I would NOT recommend taking any medication for pain if this is what you are having.
A due date with you being 37 weeks and 6 days pregnant - means that you could be 'near' delivery - but this can go on for a couple of more weeks.
The best suggestion is to stay very well hydrated, SWIM if you have access to a pool, and then also, I would recommend that you get seen by your ob/gyn too if you are contracting every 5 to 10 minutes, have any vaginal bleeding, leaking any fluid, or the baby is not moving as much.

What sort of pain are you having? If a headache, for example, Calpol is fine. If cramping, that comes and goes, then have plenty to drink, as AirMugs suggested, change your activity, and see if they subside. If it continues, give the doctors another ring and let them know.
