What is the stature of limitation on a background check in the state of Georgia. I pleaded no contendo to assault and battery with a deadly weapon and received 18 months probation withheld of adjudication 14 years ago.
There is no statute of limitations; what matters is how far back an employer is willing to pay for a background check. Most don't go back more than 10 years but it depends on the type of job. If you want to say, people here might have some idea of how far back the check might be.
You obviously don't know what SOL is, that is the time from a crime happening, to when you can be charged. It has nothing to do with criminal records.
While most do not go past 7 years, and others 10, a criminal record report will go back forever, so your crime will always show up.
If it was truly done correctly, and you had a plea deal to drop the charges after then it should not show up. To be sure, go to the police station and pay for a report to be ran on yourself.
