I have a hunter ceiling fan that had a remote control and receiver in the canopy with dip switches [5 position]. Tried to buy new transmiter at home depot but all they had was a universal unit. The new remotes do not use dip switches so I had to buy the receiver as well. The problem now is how to wire.
The fan has cables colored black, white [in], black, red, white, gray, pink and yellow [out]. The old receiver had all this cables also.
The new receiver has only black, white [in] black, white, red [out]. Question where do I connect the gray,pink and yellow wires that are coming out of the fan body and do not have matching wires on the receiver?
