My journey diamond pendant went down the tub drain this morning after my necklace broke, so of course the wather was running. Is there a slight possibility of a trap being there and if so could it have possibly caught it?

There will be a trap. It is possible that pendant is in trap. Try to retrieve it with a shop vacuum.
Empty and clean shop vac first so you can find pendant in shop vac if you do retrieve it.
If the shop vac doesn' get it you can open up the tub access panel. You may now disassemble the tub overflow and either hook out your pendant or remove the traps "J" bend and see if it's there. Good luck and I hope you find it. Tom
The shop vac might do it but there will be some negative side effects. You may pull the pendant out but with it will be a small amount of water from the trap and a fairly large volume of sewer gas. You do know what sewer gas smells like, right? I'd just drop the trap.
Thanks so much. We will be taking apart the tub :). I appreciate it!
Can you reach the trap from below the tub, can't get to the trap from above.
Thanks to all of your responses. A coat hanger, tweezers and some luck and the pendant was found. So relieved!
Tina
