    How to get out of a co-signer on a lease?
    I co-signed a lease for my daughter apt on a one year contract-this contract was never resigned -landlord tells me I am still responsible for this-how do I get out of it? Email me please at >Removed<

    I'll guess (will there be prizes?). The OP co-signed a lease. The lease expired. The parties did not enter into (re-sign) a new lease. The tenant became month-to-month. The tenant didn't pay the month-to-month rent. The OP wants to know if he/she is responsible for the month-to-month rent.

    Judy, I smell a prize coming. May even be worse. Some leases renew for full term if either party has not given notice.
