The water is just stored in a jug in the refrigerator section until used and replenished from the water supply. You need to have the temperature of the fresh food section colder for the water to be colder. To get really cold the first thing you need to do is to make sure the coils are clean under the unit. To get to these first unplug unit and remove front and rear covers at bottom. You can then slide out the drain pan to clean it then you can see the coils which you spray off with a water hose's sprayer and some spray cleaner. Do not get water IN fan motor, but clean fan blades well, as dirt on fan blades keep from blowing well. Then vacuum up water with wet-vac. This should improve the cooling 100%.
