I've been convicted and can't get a job.
I've been convicted of a felony at the age of 17 , and am now 21 years old and looking for a job . Is it illegal for me to not inform them of my conviction of the felony since its not been expunged ? Please answer ASAP.

Illegal? No. Dishonest? Yes. If it's been expunged it will show up on some background checks but not all.

Of course, if you answer "no" and are found out you will lose the job.

Does that apply to the state of Texas?

It allpies everywhere... deceptive or false answers of any type on job applications are always grounds for dismissal if the business so decides upon discovery... even if its years in the future.

Always best to be honest... the truth always has a way of being found out eventually.

You will just have to try harder and apply to more places and work at jobs to start with you may not normally want to.
