Danger ! Please help!potential fire hazard! Risk of elecrocution!
I have a friend that does not understand that it could be deadly to place boards and other things on top of the knob and tube in the attic of the house they live in . If you could e mail me back I would be able to show them that I am not just being an alarmist. If you would please respond asap it would be much appreciated thank you . This is no joke.

Boards and other covering is not a problem.
Insulation IS a problem, and also things that are touching or directly affecting the wires.

I guess I wasn't clear enough with my first entry someone I know is stacking items on top of the wires of a knob and tube electrical system. The stuff is ssitting on top of and is touching crushing hitting trampling pushing pulling brushing the wires and knobs no there is no insulation but I think heavy boxes full of clothes toching the wires or maybe sandwiching a wire btween 2 boards is bad... Would someone please help me convince my friend that this could possibly be bad thank you

Let's put it this way. Heat is a factor in electrical wiring. Nothing should be done that restricts the dissipation of that heat. Take note that the NEC comes under the umbrella of fire prevention codes. Also take note of Stan's last sentence.
