So here is what's going on everyone. My boyfriend had viral gastroenteritis(sp) just recently. On March 3rd(Saturday) he began to vomit and have diarrhea. March 4th just diarrhea(His little sister became ill on the 4th By the way which made it certain it was the " stomach bug" and not food poisoning) and March 6th he had diarrhea as well but by later that night he had just had stomach aches. On Wednesday he was back "normal" Now here is the question.. How long was he contagious "before" becoming ill and how long AFTER being "normal" again is he going to be contagious? I've looked on many different sites trying to find some answers but I seem to find all different things.. And also. How long does the virus live on surfaces and how can you PROPERLY(sp) get rid of it? Does hand sanitizer help protect against it as well? I know this is a lot but I'm curious for my own health and people at our culinary school since he will be going in 2 days! I will appreciate any help I can get especially since we will be serving the public and don't want him spreading it.
