How can I add someone to my deed?

I was just married and want to add my spouse to the deed of my home. How do I do this? If we were to ever divorce would she be entitled to half the house?

In PA I guess, it is the law that the spouse gets half of all the properties.

First adding someone to a deed can depend on what type of ownership you already have on the home, are there more than one owner already on deed, and is there a mortgage on the deed. You may have to well get the lenders permission to add to the deed.

Also not all states are community property states, and often if you own a home before marriage, it is not the spouses unless you add their name to it. You can put it in a will so they get it if you die also.

So if you want to add someone to a deed, you hire a title company or real estate attorney to draw up a need deed with the name being added and the current owners sign it.
