Is this a valid way to wire a switch to control 2 lights?
There are 2 wired receptacles on 2 walls in my living room. They contain 2-prong recessed electrical outlets which I'm guessing were for some kind of plug-in light fixtures. They are wired to a common junction box in the attic and are always on. I would like to remove the outlets and replace them with wall-sconces wired directly which would be controlled by a switch on another wall. Can I keep the existing wiring but simply splice the black wire from the power source in the attic to the switch in the wall, then back to the junction box and connect it to the black wires running to the 2 light fixtures? I don't really know how to draw electrical diagrams, but I think this should make it clear enough:

    Thanks.

Your wiring diagram looks fine. The 2 wire to the switch, if cable, will be a black and white, use the white spliced at the JB spliced to the black power source, to feed the switch, mark it black as a live feed, and use the black as a return to the JB as a switched leg.
