How do I file for taxes? (F1 Visa, OPT, 1099-MISC, Massachusetts)
How do I file for taxes?

My situation is: F1 Visa (August 2007), OPT work authorization, hired as 1099-MISC.
I began work in September 6 2011 (two month probation) and became full time on November 15 2011. I received bi-weekly checks since September 6. I live and work in Boston, MA. I've got insurance under my company, so I'm paying for that (health & dental).

I've got a Fidelity portfolio (but this is under my brother's name who already left the US).. Did very little trading but there were a few dollars realized / lost through trade and dividends (very small value, but I want to do everything legally). Also got a letter from Bank of America about my account. Says there was a $2 withheld or something for $10 earned.

    Thanks!

On F-1 you are nonresident from 2007 to 2011. For 2011 you will file nonresident tax return and form 8843.
You will report 1099-misc income and expenses on schedule C or C-EZ. As nonresident, you do not pay SE tax. Your U.S. Tax Return: U.S. Tax Filing Requirements for Non-Residents
