How long does someone serve for violating probation in Georgia for going to Florida for an emergency for his daughter?
Hello lil:
Hard to say, but I'd guess 30 days.

First even in an emergancy they should have at least called and left a number at the probation officers. Or waited till the next morning and went into the PO office to tell them.
The issues will be what type of emergency and was the father really needed. They will second guess his choice. Next how long on probation and was there any other trouble.
Next did he call and tell them at all, or did they have to find out some other way.
But I agree, at least a couple weeks, they will pick him up, and hold him in jail pending a hearing, often they can put that hearing off for two to six weeks. Then put him back on probation at the hearing. ( this is common in Georgia) But they can do more if he has a history of not following the rules.
They had an emergency c section on his ex and he was needed and no he has not done anything else to disobey the law and he called them as soon as he got back so he told them and he hired a lawyer and the lawyer said he has been talking to the po and they are trying to get him out by getting the judge to sign a paper to let him out since this was a first offense
The question the judge will want to know ( and the PO) why did he not call before he left?
And what was so important for a C section that he went for his X, was it his child being born?
Too bad... he knew the rules... he decided to break them anyway... he should go back in jail. If he won't respect the law.. he doesn't deserve to be out. Criminals always seem to have an excuse for everything...
