    Possible IUD Complications
I've had an IUD since February of 2008 somewhere in 2009 my periods stopped completely. The only way I knew I was having one was the emotional and other physical symptoms. Just recently starting in June of 2011 they started to come back and as of now (March 2012) they are just as heavy as before I had the IUD inserted. Is this normal? Should I be concerned about having unprotected sex?

I would definitely call your doctor if I were you. IUD's tend to effective (when inserted correctly) if there was a mistake, you should be the first to know! Hope it turns out to be nothing..

I agree, a call to the doctor is a good idea. Which IUD do you have? I have Mirena, and I know that the closer you get to your five year mark, the more often you can have spotting/periods even if you haven't all along. My Doctor assured me this was fine, and I haven't had a pregnancy since noticing it. But just to be sure, it is always wise to just give the doc a call.
