I had smart toes put in three of my toes. The doctor gave me cortizone shots to speed up the healing process but each shot would cause a lot of pain for a couple weeks. On the very top to the right of my left food it is like a bone that is soooooooooooooo painful - becoming difficult to walk. Do you have any idea what could cause this pain?

This enlarged and painful bone is the one directly on top of the arch area of foot(slightly above and towards the inside of the foot). I suspect arthritis due to my age (73) but the toe surgery (smart toes) along with the cortizone shots just above my toe area always caused this enlarged bone to hurt. I think that I had stepped on a nail when I was a youngster. Appreciate any info you may have on this issue.
