    Hi Munny,

The top handle controls temperature setting. It is a thermostatic sensing unit that will hold the water temperature to where you set it for the duration of the shower or until your hot water runs out. The bottom handle turns the water on and off by lifting the lever. Rotation of the lever will bring on the hand shower or body spray combinations and you can have them run all together if you want. If you are in California check to see if you must meet the CalGreen requirements which do not allow more than one shower head to run at one time.

It is a fantastic shower panel and the sprays are quite satisfying. I am the technical services manager for Hansgrohe and will tell you that we don't get problems with this rock solid unit.

    Best regards,

    Phil
