I have a swich controlling the bathroom fan. I have installed an additional light and not wanting to use the power hook up between the fan and light, I installed a new cable from the light to the receptacle box and I want them both connected to the one switch

Can you describe your problem a little clearer?

I'm glad Stan is confused because I am too. Why not hook the both together at the fan/light. Why run a separate wire if you want them both controlled by the same switch? Or are we missing something here?
