Renter or squatters rights in Florida
I have been staying in my Grandmothers trailer for over three weeks. My family has decided that they want to have me and my children thrown out with no where to go. My grandmother has given me permission to stay and has given me a rent receipt. The park ownwers have decided that my children and I must go with no where to go. They have threatened to have me arrested for trespassing. I have no intention on staying forever but do not have the money to go yet. Can I be arrested or do I have any rights? The park is a 55 community, and they are using that as a reason.

They can not have you arrested, just blowing hot air. You and grandma must reread the covenants for this park to see exactly what it says about guests. Does grandma also live in the trailer?

If the park is restricted to over 55, then they can throw you and your grandmother out. How quickly depends on the wording in the rental agreement.

You need to find a new place ASAP.
