On a long alley, a bowling ball slows down as it rolls. Is any horizontal force acting on the ball?How do you know?
From Newton's Laws you know that a body in motion tends to stay in motion unless a force acts on it. So if a bowling ball slows down there must be one or more forces acting on it. Can you think what those forces might be? There are two pretty obvious candidates.
