On what? We need details.

Would it happen to be a 1982 Mercury Sable?
I would check under the Dash on Drivers side, the glove box and under the hood, usually with a removable black plastic cover.
Usually with Fuses. Maybe a small cube, 1 1/4"?

It is located in the under hood fuse/relay box, usually on the right side of the box. The fuel pump fuse is also located in this box.
