    Hcg levels are scary
So I went to the ob the other day and they told me my hcg levels were decreasing, they left me scared and worried & She also said I would start my period. Then yesterday I had a ultrasound and the ultrasound was perfect the heartbeat was great 161, even better then the last time I had my ultrasound. I'm 13 weeks, My baby is healthy I don't understand why my levels are going down. I'm so scared, So today is when my period would start normally if I wasn't pregnant and I've had some brown goopy discharge. Any thoughts on my levels and discharge?

    Hi abigaledanielle... welcome to AMHD,

The best indicator of baby's health is the heartbeat. It is not unusual for the hcg levels to drop down a bit at this stage after having a steady rise earlier in pregnancy, so that is not necessarily a concern. Some women do experience some discharge here and there, sometimes it does occur about the time they would normally have a period as well.

Will you be going back to your next visit in a month or do they want to see you sooner for another scan?
