I am 40 yrs old, I had my IUD inserted 6 months ago but unfortunately it still got me pregnant which I do not want anymore child as I already had 3. It depressed to even think about another child. My husband's nephew in law has mentally disorder since young and my family, 2 of my brother having mentally disorder as well. I am at my risk especially at 40 yrs old. I am so scared.

All you can do is speak with your gyn and consider a genetic testing to determine your risk factors.

I am sorry... this is why I don't trust IUDs. Of course, at forty the risk that your eggs aren't as healthy de to environmental factors is true... the healthier you ave been throughout your life, the more likely your eggs are in good condition the older you become. A LOT of women have children at 40... genetic testing isn't something I endorse as it's potential for false positives is frighteningly high causing unneeded concern and worry.
