Hi All,

When we turn the water in the kitchen and if it's more than a trickle of water coming out of the faucet, it all comes out of the floor drain in the basement by the washing machine and where the hot water tank is. I assume that's the lowest point in the house? Other drains are fine - and by that I mean bathroom sink, washroom etc.
Anyway, I tried using draino - no help. I tried pouring draino down that floor drain - no help. I tried showing the snake down that floor drain but I just keep hitting the pipe that's actually washer drain so it comes up that way :)
Any other suggestions please? I was thinking of putting the snake through the kitchen sink but I don't think it's plugged there since I guess it would all come back up in the sink and not in the basement floor drain, so my guess is somewhere between the floor drain and the main drain pipe that goes to the city drain, but than again I can't seem to snake out anything in that floor drain... totally confused here...

Right, floor drain is usually the lowest point and first to back up if there is a clog downstream. Try rodding the floor drain in the other direction, I think you might be going up stream. Many floor drains have a square removable plug slight off to the side, this is where you want to rod from.
