The agitator motor is making a grinding noise. Maybe the gear shaft is not engaging the center agitator? Could the gears be stripped? The washer is about 9 years old, but has been moved around in storage for the last three years. It worked fine when we put it away. I was a little rough on it, when moving it all by myself without a dolly. The water fills and the water gets pumped out, but the agitator or spin cycle will not work. Is there an easy fix? Thank you in advance. Oh yeah, there appears to be slight amount of oil on the bottom surface of the gear case.

No easy fix cheaper to buy a new or used one about time u pay for parts n labor

Hi ike, I have to disagree with don, It's a lot cheaper to repair than replace most always. That said, have you checked the drive coupling
