Relationship - Depression and No Sex
My partner constantly works and when at home is exhausted. We have been together for almost 10yrs get along well but have never had a fulfilling sex life at least I haven't. I am a stay at home mom with both boy's in school. I have suffered with depression for years on and off. We have not had sex in 4 months. I wonder sometimes if some of my depression could be caused from lack of affection and no sex. Even though I battle with depression I still desire to have sex. I am 40 and he is 37. This has been going on for
Years. He has trouble maintaining an erection unless he takes viagra. When we have sex it is good but at times he is frustrated and don't want to deal with it which is why months will go by with no sex. I have talked to him but it does not improve. The doctor said it's in his head. Any advice?

Have you tried sitting down and talking to him, calmly and rationally? Yes, many things can and do contribute to depression. How recently did he see the Doctor?

I do understand his frustration (and possible embarrassment) if he needs to rely on Viagra.

Are you on medication to help you with your depression?

This must be frustrating but I can't think of anything but a physical exam and medication and a frank discussion.
